I don’t do reality shows but I wanted to watch this one. I’m on acreage outside of Canberra, and I specialise in Australian native produce, and I dearly wanted to see that kind of knowledge used in the wild.
As soon as I “met” you and Kate, I wanted one of you to win, over everyone else. I didn’t care who it was. I’m glad it was one of you. So very, very glad. I actually cheered with joy at the finale. I’ve never cared so much about a reality show in my life. It was so very real.
I loved your nest, and your cloak, and your connection to country. I found you relatable. I found myself thinking “yup, I could have done that too”.
You write so beautifully Gina, how lucky for us that writing is another of your gifts. Your ability to draw such honest and profound insights from your experiences is a gift to us as well. Thank you!
Im also looking forward to finding out who ‘extracted’ Gina is and how she meets the world. I think she will be someone who stays very close to her soulskin and who will carry an unspoken experience in her heart. The world will want much of you, but what you offer in return is entirely up to you. It’s a wonderful and inspiring journey to follow from this side. ♥️
How can I describe what your words....your story have done to my heart. You have touched my soul and awakened a hunger to get back into the bush again and more. Thank you are not the words I would choose, but rather deepest gratitude. I honor and respect the way you are.. You have and will inspire and BE. Much love Rensina
From the moment you disembarked and danced I was hoping that you would win. Your ability to sit with pain, connect with the earth and deeply love all that is illuminates the way forward for us all. Big thank you Gina!
Beautiful writing Gina. The way you use words to help us feel some of what it must have been like for you - incredible! My family is so in awe of you and we were drawn to your spirit as soon as we saw you on Alone. I hope that since the time has past from your extraction, you have been able to integrate your two parts together. The way you describe your experience of being after the extraction reminds me of the idea of being in a liminal space. Not quite where you were, but not yet in the place you are going to either. The in between space. You are such a gift to this world and I can’t wait to see all the amazing things that you do with your gift from here on out.
Oh wow such eloquence sister! I could read you for hours… the aftermath sounds so much harder than the ‘challenge’. Excited to sing by the fire with you in the future. Bless x
I get it. I get you. Your heart-centred prose penetrates the tangled web of stories outside and within. It shifts the matrix towards a more mindful and stable structure, sustained by more natural energy sources and rhythms. It supports more permutations as creative possibilities. Maybe you have transformed under pressure like a diamond. Your reflections are brilliant. You got this. You got you. Mx
Your soul writes this piece with your hands - the ghost and the cries of the bird - your complete surrender- waking up your inner Internet that was there for ever.
Thank you for remembering how to listen, and dissolve to allow all to be. Your place - ours - in the infinite cosmos.
Thank you for writing yourself home - and bringing us with you. Love.
I can't imagine anything more discombobulating than being whisked away from your soul home where you've been enmeshed and embedded...I guess it takes a feat of imagination to extend those tendrils and stretch your Self to encompass a vast distance. When I was a child and astral travelled in the night, there was only so far I could go before my body called my spirit back. Now I'm grown I use my imagination in a meditative state to roam freely across the universe. I hope you are now grounded in body & soul Gina, after 9 months to birth your Alone being that you are now sharing with the world. Judging from what I've seen this last week, you're raring to go! 😁 Blessings & love to you 💕
Rewilding oneself is more essential than ever before.
Deepest thanks, Gina......for prompting the whispers inside us that we are not truly connecting with our magnificent Mother.
Thank you for your exquisite writing and word-connections describing the evocativeness of your senses, that we can learn from to then experience.
Before we can rewild landscapes, we people need to rewild and, as you describe so delicately, it is the intimacy between all Mother's creations we need to refind and reconnect with.
The privilege of being where the palawa people have lived for ever - unfucked - is deep. There are few places remaining in Australia that haven't been altered by 'technology'.
Yearning is something I've noticed in people for years but, they aren't quite sure what it is that keeps them slightly off balance and unsettled. Your joyous intimacy with your place during Alone expresses that immersion enables that sensuous communication - especially listening - to what is being told, shared and given in harmony.
Thank you for sharing your story on Blaize. My mum back in the 60s had a stillborn child. She never talked about it and it's only till now that I realise what trauma she must have gone through. I remember a few things about the funeral and the sadness my parents went through. It must have been so hard for her. 💔
Thankyou for your raw and honest revelations on your journey. May your experiences teach many of us the path we need to embark on to reconnect with and heal our beautiful blue floating orb. You have inspired me to watch Television for the first time in 6 years. May you have all the support you need to continue with your magnificent writings.
I found your Substack via that SBS article.

My heartfelt thanks
You are truly a gifted author, such eloquent, elegant prose straight from your honest, generous heart. Thank you.
